Your June 18 column in The Molokai Times addressed a very grave issue, the Molokai Ranch's desire to abandon water and sewer services to approximately 50 percent of Molokai's population .

The state Public Utilities Commission has approved temporary rate increases for the West End water utilities Wai'ola and Molokai Public Utilities .
